Tap Your Powers
Know yourself and decide what you want most of all to make out of your life. Then write down your goals and a plan to reach them. Your plan for work and happiness should be big, imaginative, and daring. The mistake is to put your sights too low, not to raise them too high.
Use the great powers that you can tap through faith in God and the hidden energies of your soul and subconscious mind. Faith is the key to unlocking limitless powers of the mind, the heart, the soul; faith and belief that smash fear. Faith and belief in the ultimate realization of your hopes that are right.
Love people and serve them. In a job, a business or profession, you simply are filling human wants. The opportunities to develop new products and services are as boundless as the ideas and desires of mankind.
Develop your positive traits of character and personality. You don’t need to blow the top off an IQ test or be the son or daughter of genius to succeed. A number of surveys prove that attributes of personality are far more important than technical skills in winning and keeping a job.
Work! Put your life’s plan into determined action and go after what you want with all that’s in you!

How Do I Look?
That’s the question I posed to myself recently. I wasn’t cute and chubby anymore. I was fat. And it’s not cute - it’s never cute. No full-length mirrors in my house. Are you kidding? I knew what I looked like. Uh-huh.
Then, as I was strolling through a Blockbuster Video I passed in front of a full-length mirror. This was no fun house mirror; there was nothing funny about the reflection. I was stunned. I saw myself for the first time in a long, long time, and SO did not like what I saw. I fought back the tears at the check-out counter, got in my car and went home. I had seen what my figure really was. When did I turn into a blond-haired snowman? Or was it snow-woman? I was mortified.
A short time later (remember: “When the student’s ready, the teacher appears) I attended a nutritional/fat-burning talk that my doctor was giving about a great line of products called Isagenix. Three months and 36 pounds later I can’t begin to tell you how great I feel! Three sizes have melted away and it’s changed my life. I enjoy shopping for jeans again. I’m still losing, because I haven’t met my goal yet, but I’m getting there - 25 pounds to go!
But not only has my weight lessened and I’m building muscle, my body mass has changed. This stuff really, really works! I’ve melted away fat from my neck to my feet. No kidding! And I feel really, really good. My hair and nails are healthier, my skin is clearer and fresher looking - flushing out toxins is a good thing. Isagenix products are natural and contain no artificial sweeteners. I was walking one mile a day before starting this and I still walk, but now I’ve added my elliptical machine 20-minute workout at least 3 times a week.
Yes, I know this sounds like an infomercial but I can’t help it. I’m now a part of the Isagenix Team as a Consultant. My friends, family, doctors, co-workers, everybody is joining because it works. Those commercials we all see on TV about ordering meals for months at a time don’t work because they are not cleansing our bodies of toxins. The toxins are what you want to get rid of. Our bodies take fat and wrap it around the toxins to protect them. Isagenix helps you to rid your body of them. This is not a colon cleanse - it’s a full-body cleanse.
Besides fat and toxins, what have you got to lose? Check out my Isagenix website at www.lindabehrens.isagenix.com and watch the videos, click around and peruse the site. If you have any questions, drop me a line here or there and I’ll be happy to help you.
If my 77 year-old mother is taking this feels great and has more energy, what’s holding you back?
Happy Thanksgiving!
We’re busy cooking, eating, and resting on this fine day but hope you and yours have an abundant time.
Don’t forget - before you go to sleep tonight, write down five things you’re grateful for. Here are mine:
1) My health - duh, right?
2) My immediate family (the one under my roof) - husband, daughter, mom and new son-in-law.
3) My extended family - that includes all of them, even the annoying ones.
4) My job - I’m so grateful I have one.
5) That I’m alive to be thankful.
What’s a Tithe?
In Biblical times, tithe meant one-tenth. It means the same thing now, but we just seem to prefer the term one-tenth.
My husband and I use the word tithe and we practice it, every week, without fail. What exactly is tithing? Giving one-tenth (10%) of your income - that’s gross income - to God. And if the word God is not in your dictionary, or if you prefer another term, then give one-tenth (10%) of your gross income to a place that has inspired you. Let me explain:
For those of us who don’t belong to an institutionalized church, temple, etc., yet still receive inspiration from other sources - well that’s where you tithe. According to Catherine Ponder’s wonderful series of books, “The Millionaires of the Bible” you are not supposed to give that tithe to a problematic family member or a friend. I’d call that enabling, not tithing. Instead, Catherine says to give them a book explaining how they can attract or manifest that money into their lives (more on that in another article).
Anyways, our inspiration has come from several different sources (though all in the end are from above) so we kinda take turns weekly on who and where the 10% that week goes. Inspiration can come in many, many guises. One of them is the unconditional love we receive every minute from our wonderful husky/basenji mix dog. He came into our lives two years ago by the grace of God when I “just happened” to stop by our local animal shelter. Animal shelters are a wonderful, wonderful place to tithe.
There are a few other places we send to, but you’ll know in your heart where you want your money to go . Another great place is your local library, maybe a local (nor not so local) retreat. Just remember to make sure the place you’re sending your money to is really a legitimate cause. Ask yourself, “What inspires me?”
With that said, I’ll just touch briefly on the rewards of tithing. Okay, forget it - try as I might, I can’t do it briefly, because my rewards are endless! My life has overflowed with everything since I began to tithe. I heard this would happen, and it wasn’t skepticism that I felt at first it was “Let’s see about this!!! And I’m here to say it’s all true. It’s true that when you tithe some sort of magic happens; good things, vibes, and money come to you, and they come fast! Seriously. Perhaps the phrase “What goes around, comes around” was a reference to tithing as opposed to Karma. Hmmm.
But that’s not the reason to tithe. Check it out for yourself. Ten percent seems like a lot at first, but as they say, “You can’t afford NOT to tithe”. Start slowly - again with the baby steps - give 5% or what you can. It’ll grow. It always does. You’ll be like the Grinch, but in a good way.
Happy tithing!
