Do Angels Exist?

angel wingsRecently I read a blurb that went like this: “How many angels do you have? All of them. They insisted.” Wow! That blew my mind. But to folks who don’t believe in the Angel Realm, what does it mean? What are angels, and do they exist? What about guardian angels? Don’t forget the four famous archangels. If we’re supposed to believe in demons then why not angels? According to legend the only thing that separates us from the angels is free will; we have it, they don’t.

Many authors insist that angels live among us disguised as humans, and sometimes we help others in an “angel-like” way. Native Americans looked to great spirits - angels by another name. Some authors give instructions how to communicate and see your very own guardian angel. They even go on to say how some of us have more than one angel. But they all agree on one thing: no angel may interfere in a human being’s life unless asked to by the human. They cannot just act on their own behalf unless the human they’re “assigned to” is in mortal danger. Remember James Stewart’s angel in the movie, It’s A Wonderful Life? Well, wasn’t George going to end it all by jumping off the bridge? Same thing.

On a personal note, when I was sixteen and about to do something very, very stupid (I’d prefer to not mention what it was) I heard, as clear as a bell in my left ear, “Don’t do that Linda.” Which caused me to stop, freeze, not move a muscle - I was suspended in time. I knew what I’d heard. It was a voice, that sounded like my own voice but older, matured. I knew in my heart that I’d just been verbally introduced to the guardian angel assigned to me. I placed my head in my hands and began to weep. It was a very, very emotional moment. If that voice had not stopped me I would have died a horrible, painful death.

So, do I believe? Do I think they exist? Yes and yes. Since that experience many years ago I have come to accept, seek, and receive daily guidance from my guardian angel who for some reason I have named Consuela. I’ve never seen her, but I know she’s there on the sidelines. And folks, that helps keep me grounded.

Let’s All Chime In!

I love chimes. The tinkly ones sound a bit creepy to me - like an abandoned Old West ghost town, but not the monster chimes. Wow! They create the most beautiful Spring & Summer sounds. Though your neighbors may not appreciate your chimes all the time, I’m sure there are worse things in the world that people have to put up with. I’m going with the chimes.

tabletop.jpgThe cost runs the gamut; from super inexpensive to around one hundred dollars. I don’t spend that much on chimes. The most expensive ones I bought were twenty dollars and they came from Pier1 Imports. I’ve had them up for two years and we all love them. They’ve even got tabletop chimes now!

Don’t go “Blair Witch Project” and make your own out of silverware, pebbles, beads or feathers. Those are just trashy, tacky and nasty. Invest ten dollars perhaps in a Michaels Craft Store - they have some that you buy right off the shelf - you don’t even have to make them. Even a small set hung in the kitchen window will elicit beautiful music when the breeze strikes them.

Chimes move around our energy. They are one of life’s wonderful mysteries and enjoyments. Hang them up and enjoy! Sipping coffee on a porch, listening to chimes is truly one of life’s pleasures.

Movie Recommendation: King Of California

koc-i.jpgI can’t recommend this movie enough, and to everybody! King of California is such a quirky, little movie. Though I never heard of it until my sister Shawn recommended it to me; so I sought it out at my local video store.

It stars a crazy (or not - the movie will unfold with this answer) Michael Douglas as the father of Evan Rachel Wood - a beautiful, up-and-coming actress who is destined to win an academy award one day. Charlie (Douglas) is absolutely convinced that there is a lost buried treasure hidden about six feet under his local Costco. He must also convince his daughter Miranda (Evan) that it’s truly buried there.koc-ii.jpg

What they experience along the way and how it changes them forever is such good movie viewing time well-spent. My husband and I truly enjoyed this and I think you will too.
