The only barrier is our readiness

The Power of Green (A Feng Shui Series)

bagua dolphinAh, not just associated with the Irish anymore, and I’m definitely not writing about anything to do with going green. What I’m writing about is going for the green. And there’s nothing wrong with that. We are supposed to be abundant and have plenty so green will be our guide.

Is it any wonder that Dorothy Gale was headed toward the Emerald City? The land of milk and honey, so to speak; her own backyard? Money is power and freedom. Let’s face it, how far are you going to get without the green? Not much farther than your backyard, and you could possibly lose that backyard without some of it.

Therefore, use the color green in the prosperity corner of your *bagua. Plants, pictures of real money, anything green is going to work here; go green in the prosperity corner. Green gets you out of the red - so to speak - so work this color into that corner. I placed a small bag of that gold-foil covered chocolate candy in my prosperity corner with a green ribbon tied around it. Worked for me!

*Bagua: In simple terms is is one of the tools used in feng shui to help us determine preferred locations in the home or in the office for certain functions such as wealth, health, fame, etc.

Silver & Gold (A Feng Shui Series)

coins.jpgI love that old Burl Ives song, but this article isn’t about Christmas. It’s about keeping in the theme of things with good energy. Silver (metal) and gold always serve up good energy. Perhaps that’s why the best gifts come in small packages.

But here we go with Feng Shui. Silver can be almost anything silver or metal - be careful about using sharp objects. Aluminum foil is silver so use it. Gold? Lots of stuff is gold-colored; the Universe is not that picky about purity of ingredients, it’s looking for the color so lets serve up some gold. What have you got that’s gold-colored? Place the gold in the prosperity corner - for obvious reasons.

As far as Feng Shui is concerned, metal symbolizes organization and is for wealth and protection. Here are some metals you can use:

  • Stainless steel
  • Aluminum
  • Brass
  • Sterling silver
  • Silver plate
  • Iron
  • White metal

Metal is associated with money and is used in Chinese coins. The coins are round with a square cut in the center of them. Tie a bunch together with red ribbon or yarn then place them with your business records or maybe appointment books - even near your business cards. For Feng Shui reasons they really do seem to attract wealth.

It’s Not Over Till It’s Over?

broken-heart.jpgI’m going to rewrite that as, “It’s over when I say it is.” This is about breaking up, and although I’m not in the midst of one, it’s never easy, but it doesn’t have to be hard either.

Thank goodness I’m not in the dating scene anymore, but I can see and hear that things haven’t changed; only the players have. No pun intended with that “players” remark. When I was still dating, the term players wasn’t even used. We just came out and called them a cheating son of a bitch and left it at that. Works, right?

Even so, what if he wasn’t a cheat, but was a liar? Is there that much of a difference? Here’s the way it see it: Who wants to work at a relationship? Whenever I hear the statement, “Relationships take work. Sometimes hard work.” I have to laugh. If you’re working, then get out! Is it hard work to love someone? Nope. I didn’t ask if it was hard work to love someone who is not well, we’re talking a regular Joe. And if it takes work to love Mr. Regular Joe, than quit that job and get a new one. But first, take a breather and go on a Me Vacation to take care of yourself. Get pampered. Get right.

Don’t bounce into something new right away, and don’t go out looking to just look. Take care of yourself for a bit. How long’s a bit? I’d say at least a couple of months, but you’ll know. Just like you’ll know it’s over when it’s over.

Health Center (A Feng Shui Series)

8ball.jpgThe center of our homes is the health section, according to the Feng Shui Bagua. Keeping this area clean and clutter-free is the place to start. Plus a few extra tips just may help you with a better life balance and optimal health. Try these “tricks” to see.

Because it is the center of the house and it’s about our bodies, fresh fruit in a bowl here is a very good idea. This is symbolic of vitality and good health. Earth tone colors and symbols of the earth such as mountain pictures or natural, scenic pictures hung somewhere or on tabletops will help. A candle (fire) or something with stars and the sun in it will also work. The funny thing is if you place a comical item in this area it will do your health good. Remember that laughter is the best medicine. I keep a smiley-face, magic-8 ball on my entranceway table. Everyone picks it up, shakes it and laughs.

Try these tips out for 7 days and see how your health improves.
